Our Shampoo Process
Want To Know More About Our Carpet Shampoo Process? Read On
What is carpet shampooing anyway? Put simply, detailers will shampoo vehicle seats, carpets and floor mats to remove stains, built-up dirt/grime and odours while enhancing and brightening the appearance of the fabric.
Carpet shampooing, otherwise known as carpet extraction, can be done in different ways depending on who you ask.

That's why we made this page to outline exactly what goes into our carpet shampoo process, so you know what you're getting and what to expect.
We use a 3-stage carpet cleaning system of products by P&S, a US company providing detailing products for over 60 years, as well as 3D Car Carpet Shampoo in our shampoo machine to encapsulate dirt and brighten fabrics.
Our Carpet Shampoo Process
-
Stage 1 - Apply P&S Terminator to stained areas. Terminator cuts through grease, oil, dirt and food related stains
-
We agitate Terminator into the fabric using drill brushes and hand brushes, then let it penetrate the fabric for a few minutes
-
Stage 2 - Apply P&S Carpet Bomber, a citrus-derived, water-based, biodegradable upholstery cleaner, straight on top of Terminator

-
We agitate the fabric again to work the cleaner deep into the surface and allow to sit again for a few minutes
-
Stage 3 - Use our Numatic George shampoo machine filled with water & 3D Carpet Shampoo to suck out the gunk and cleaning solutions

-
If necessary, floor mats are high-pressure rinsed and extracted again to remove as much water as possible

-
Stage 4 - Spray a light mist of P&S Finisher Peroxide Treatment and allow to dry

-
Allow Finisher to break down chemicals and odours into oxygen and water, leaving no chemical residue
Shampoo & Extraction FAQs
Do you come to me?
Yes! We have a mobile detailing unit with all tools and products required, we just need access to electricity and water for this service. You can also drop your vehicle off at our secure and private Baldivis home studio and collect later.

We service Baldivis, Rockingham, Mandurah, Fremantle, Cockburn, Canningvale & more.
Does this service remove odours?

The Full Car Interior Clean (which includes shampooing) will remove some odours, but we cannot guarantee perfection.

Depending on how long the odour has existed, it may have spread deep into fabric and seat cushioning, much like mould does, sometimes making it impossible for us to remove completely. We will do our best to improve the stains and odours in this service but cannot guarantee perfection.
Does this include pet hair removal?

No. Some hair will be removed, but excess pet hair removal will add extra time to the detail at an additional cost. This is due to the way the hair entangles itself into fabric, making it a very meticulous and timely process to remove.

You can send us photos of your car for an accurate quote.
Will my interior be wet?

Yes. But not soaking wet. We don't introduce too much water to the fabrics and use our high-powered shampoo machine to draw as much moisture out as possible.

You will need to account for drying time, which can differ depending on the climate. In summer it dries much more quickly than winter. No matter the season, we recommend at least 2 hours before using the car.
Do you remove the seats?

At this time, we do not. Your seats are one of the most important parts to keep you safe. We would not want to disconnect or move anything around that would compromise that. The same goes for baby seats and boosters, we can remove these but cannot reinstall them for you.
We have several machines and brushes that allow us to thoroughly clean around seats to remove most stains.
Do you do complete mould removal?

No, not as a service. While some mould will be removed with shampooing, if your vehicle is very mouldy, we actually will not work on it due to health concerns.

Additionally, shampooing will only remove surface mould and there could still be a lot of it growing in the cushioning and areas that no extractor can reach.

Think of it like mould on bread. Sure, you can remove the surface layer, but by that time the mould spores have grown deep into the bread where you cannot see.
Will every stain be removed?

It’s not possible to achieve perfection. The goal with our Full Interior Cleaning service is to make a significant difference. Not every stain or blemish will be removed entirely due to factors out of our control such as what caused the stain, the surface that is stained and how long it has been there.
At the minimum, stains and smells will be reduced or minimized.
Do you clean the headliner?

Yes, as best as possible, however they are very sensitive to cleaning. The material is thin and glued onto the ceiling of your car, meaning we cannot clean it in the same manner as the rest of the interior.

Excessive vacuuming may pull the headliner away, while introducing too much water may dissolve the glue, causing sag. For this reason, we cannot guarantee a huge transformation if your headliner is quite bad.
